This is my favorite for a newborn baby: a slip-over-the-head raglan sweater with a rolled neck.  What makes it so special is the yarn: this is Pediwick by Knit One, Purl One, a unique yarn with a blend of 66% bamboo and 34% nylon.  The nylon gives it a wonderful amount of stretch.  So this little sweater will expand to slip easily over baby's head and will continue to fit as baby grows in the first months!  This yarn has been discontinued, alas, and this may be my last Pediwick baby sweater.  This one is a rose pink color.  I had just enough left over to pair with some variegated sock yarn to make a little hat, with the band made of the stretchy yarn.  The band can be turned up for smaller heads or down for larger, so both pieces will grow with baby.  The last photos try to show how much it stretches!     Measurements, all unstretched: ~6" across shoulders; 7" across underarms; 5.5" sleeve length from underarm; ~7.5" length from center back to hem; about 14" around hat band; 7" total length.  This one is truly one of a kind!
